Dawan is passionate about teaching his students culinary arts and inspiring them to pursue success.

is a Homeland Security/Protective Services instructor at Flint/Genesee Job Corps Center. Before he joined the team, Shane spent 20 years gaining experience in private security and first response. Shane’s curriculum offers students hands-on training in the field as they gain the skills to enter the workforce prepared to take on any challenge.

is the Lead UBC Carpentry instructor at Flint/Genesee Job Corps Center. Before becoming a part of the team in 2021, Paul worked with the Michigan Department of Corrections as a carpentry instructor. In his role, Paul is fulfilling his childhood dream of teaching in a carpentry shop and inspiring young people.

is the Medical Administrative Assistant instructor at Flint/Genesee Job Corps Center. Mary joined the Flint/Genesee JC team in 2006, bringing experience in the medical field with her. After graduating from the CNA program at Excelsior Springs Job Corps, Mary continued her education at the University of Michigan-Flint and Mott Community College, where she studied nursing and science. She enjoys educating students and pushing them to reach their goals through Job Corps.

She is a Flint, Mich., native and has served over 20 years with Genesee County. She finds joy in helping students make a difference in their lives on their way to success.
